Battlebot

Starting in 2002, Western Allied Robotics has given robotics enthusiasts a chance to compete in intense robotic combat by hosting events throughout the Northwest; and with the simplicity and freedom of the concept, it allows those of all backgrounds and levels of experience to compete. This competition not only provides us with an opportunity to gain publicity for the WSU Robotics Club, but more importantly provides an opportunity for students of all skill levels, regardless of major, to come together and gain experience working in a collaborative environment while working through the design process for a project.

We are proposing to design, test, and build a combat robot for entry in the twelvepound weight class Spring Western Allied Robotics competition in Seattle. By competing in a well-known competition, we aim to gain publicity for Robotics club inside and outside of the Pullman community, as well as generate interest in the club among students of all majors. Combat robotics also provides an opportunity to build teamworking and sound design skills that members can take with them into the professional field while partaking in an engaging, exciting competition.
